Service Overview
Working with a builder on a new home? We coordinate directly with your construction team to install beautiful hardwood floors at the right stage of your build.

The Process
We coordinate directly with your builder to install hardwood floors at the right stage of construction. New builds offer full access for cleaner cuts, tighter fits, and a clean site-finished result.
We connect with your builder or GC to establish the installation timeline, confirm subfloor readiness, and align our scope with the construction schedule.
We help you choose species, width, and grade, then order materials with enough lead time for delivery and acclimation before your install date.
Before installation, we verify the subfloor is level, dry, clean, and properly fastened. We check moisture content and flag any issues for the builder.
We install the hardwood throughout the home, handling layout direction, room transitions, closets, and stair areas with precision.
We sand the entire floor smooth, apply your chosen stain, and seal with multiple coats of finish. We then cover and protect the floors for remaining construction activity.
Building a new home is the perfect opportunity to install beautiful hardwood floors from the start. Alpine Hardwood partners with builders and homeowners throughout the Cokato area and the Twin Cities west metro to deliver hardwood flooring that's installed right the first time.
Hardwood installation should happen after drywall, painting, and HVAC rough-in are complete - and before trim, cabinetry, and appliance installation. The home's HVAC system should be running to maintain stable temperature and humidity levels during acclimation and finishing.
We install both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood in new construction. Not sure which is right for your build? Schedule a consultation and we'll walk through species, widths, and finish options with you.
After installation and finishing, we cover the floors with protective paper or ram board to prevent damage from remaining construction trades. We provide guidelines to your builder on how to protect the hardwood during trim installation, cabinet setting, and final cleanup.
We regularly coordinate with general contractors and custom home builders throughout central Minnesota. We understand construction schedules, communicate proactively, and show up when we say we will. We also install hardwood stair treads during the flooring phase for a unified look throughout the home.
Alpine Hardwood provides new construction hardwood flooring throughout Cokato, MN and the Twin Cities western suburbs. Contact us early in your build to lock in scheduling and material lead times.
