Flooring Project
Project Details
New build in Aspen, Colorado with Janckila Construction. We milled and prefinished 1,238 square feet of 7-inch engineered European White Oak (3/4 inch thick, 4 to 10 foot lengths, Light Rustic grade, 4-sided micro bevel) in our shop, then installed it on site. The finish is a Loba system: two coats of Easy Prime in White Add, then two coats of Loba Invisible. The white pigment in the prime coats holds back the yellowing white oak normally drifts toward, so the boards keep their natural color and read close to untouched. We also prefinished another 4,500 square feet of the same White Oak for ceiling and wall cladding, installed by other trades. Because it came out of our shop matched to the floor, the wood reads as one continuous surface from underfoot to ceiling.

Results
A consistent, low-yellowing white oak palette running from floor to wall to ceiling. The Loba Invisible topcoat keeps the wood looking raw while giving it real wear protection, which is what the homeowner and Janckila Construction were after for a new construction at this level.
