Before Installation:
A skilled team member will visit your home to take measurements and asses your subfloor, layout and check the moisture levels in your home.
Choose the flooring that is right for your home. Weather its solid or engineered, then decide the species, color, width, and finish. And finally site finished or prefinished.
Prep your space- depending on what space in your home is getting done, the furniture and appliances will need to be moved. Existing floors may may need to be removed and subfloor repairs or leveling might be required.
During Installation:
Dust & Noise- expect noise from tools and machinery, plus some dust- even if its a dust controlled process.
There will be some restricted access in your home depending on which part of your home or space is being worked on.
Installation type- Nail down- for solid hardwood on subfloors, glue down often for engineered hardwood or concrete. Floating floor click lock engineered planks.
Time frame- depending on the size and complexity, most installations take about 1-5 days for an average home.
After Installation:
Curing time- If your floors are site-finished (sanded and stained on site) you’ll need to stay off them for up to 48-72 hours. Prefinished floors can be walked on sooner.
Furniture & Rugs- Wait at least 24-48 hours before moving furniture back on. Area rugs should wait at least 1-2 weeks to avoid trapping moisture or disrupt curing.
Clean up- our team will do a nice clean up, but a dusting and vacuuming are usually still needed after the process is complete.
Wood is a natural product that expands and contracts! Some small gaps or noises are normal, especially during seasonal changes.
